BYE FEBRUARY
Bye
Hello Friends
February feels like that friend,I have been expecting for a long period of time and when that friend finally comes, there’s a lot to catch on with but time won’t allow us but the friend has to go till some other time again.
So get ready with me as I tell how my February went
Started Working
I got a PPA towards the end of January ( primary place of assignment- a place where graduate who are serving Nigeria are been put to work there for one year) I was officially welcomed in February, and it happened to be a school but I started late which means I have to rush and meet up, that has been like a big task on my plate. And the students, oh God nothing prepares me for them( another story for another day). But I'm getting use to the system already.
A New Church
The first Sunday in February, I found my way to a Baptist church close by and initially I did not want to be recognized as first timer because of the whole attention, first timer were asked to stand and I did and the camera was on us countless of time at some point I wanted to laugh.
We were given first timer gift.but one thing I dislike about starting a new church in a new city is that you will have to make friends again. So far I have made just two friends from the church and that’s because we are all attending a discipleship class.
Grief
Every 14th Feb is not always interesting to me because I had lost my Dad on that day, and this year made it 10 years. I made a promise to myself that I wasn’t going to cry,
( fake promise y’all) I did cry.
My mom called very early in the morning and told me that it’s 10 years( I could feel the sadness in her voice) maybe she taught I had forgotten and she asked me to call my sister and remind her too.
Adulthood
This should be a newsletter on it own for real, there’s a lot in adulthood and it’s funny how we were not informed ahead of time, there should be a manual for this adulthood phase. So I can know how to navigate it especially going to the market with plenty money and returning with few goods. I’ve been to the market thrice now and everytime I’m back, I usually seat down to calculate, maybe I was robbed in the market who knows.
My Bible
So I started been consistent in reading my Bible again, I’m so happy because most time I procrastinate and still not read. Or I just pray instead of reading the word but the two cannot do without each other, they have to go together.
Trying things
Last week Monday I joined the media department of the youth fellowship, but immediately I got home I was doubting myself. Anxiety got the best part of me, I had to pray because I was so close to texting the media lead that I’m opting out.
But I’m sticking to it and let’s see how far I can go.
I also registered for a Readathon( which means we are to read 4 books in 4 weeks) I’m so excited about this one and the challenge is starting from 1st March - 28th March, I will be dropping review about each book every weekend.
Book I read half way:
Friend of Jesus by Karen Kingsbury
Youtube videos I watched:
Maybe February was not the friend I was waiting for but a teacher that came with a lot of lesson.
I’m glad that I’m learning and growing, one step at a time.
Dear Friends this is where i draw the curtain close.
I pray March comes with a beautiful things and don’t be hard on yourself just make sure you’re doing the right thing at the right time.
So happy new month in advance y’all
I love you but Jesus loves you more.
Jochebed 💜
