THINGS WE DO EVERY SUNDAY SERVICE THAT WE DON'T TALK ABOUT
We're all guilty
Hello Friends,
There are some behaviors people exhibit in church which are not right at all, and mind you I’m not even exempted either and these has made a lot of people (Youth especially) have issues with Ushers every Sunday. Grab a popcorn as you read.
PRESSING PHONE
For a Church service that is 2-3 hours highest, most people are online chatting, some watch reel with their ear pod plugged in, you had the whole weeks with your phone why can’t you just sacrifice the 3-hours and concentrate in church.is it that hard!
A certain time, I saw someone playing candy crush while Pastor was preaching. Sista you can do better, if the usher collect your phone now what will you say? Most people end up staying on their phone from the beginning of the service till the end, without even knowing what the Pastor preached about. We all can do better please!!
COMING LATE TO CHURCH
Brotherrr, we both know that church is 8am but why are majestically walking inside the church by 9:45am or are you the guest minister?
(Note that there are some people that their work makes them come late to church, that’s a different case please).
Some pretty ladies will come late to church and still cat-walk with their heels causing distraction (oh please, I’m not against heel, I wear them too) now you’re late, usher told you that every seat is occupied except front seat, you are arguing with usher almost even fighting, some will hiss and walk out on the usher. Father Lord have mercy. If you don’t want to sit in the front because you’re shy and i understand, you can try and come early next sunday.
GISTING WITH YOUR FRIEND
I know you did not get to see your bestie during the week, but this is not the time to catch up with the unfinished gist, you have plenty of time to do that after church service.
In this era of social media you can easily gist with your loves during the week, but some people will bring up gist of centuries and end up laughing and giggling loudly while service is going on, my beautiful gender are guilty of this one.
JUDGING EVERYTHING
We know you’re a judge even though you didn’t attend law school (on a lighter light).
Sometimes we all notice some loopholes in some departments in church, but it becomes so bad when you judge them without realizing that these people are human beings too, so definitely there will be flaws.
Instead of judging how the Choir sang, or that the media team are not creating the right content, or the ushers are not smiling well. I feel you can write to the department or even meet the team lead.
Some churches even have suggestion boxes (where you can write anonymously). You can do all these without judging every Sunday, I feel constant judging build up bitterness without you realizing.
CHURCH FASHION POLICE
These one pains me the most
Why on earth will you laugh at someone’s outfit in church for Christ sake? Forgetting that all fingers are never equal, the fact that you can afford some certain designers clothes doesn’t mean another person can.
But laughing and criticizing their outfit is unkind. If you ever feel someone fashion sense is not up to standard, you can equally gift them some clothes or you can advise them if they are close to you.
If you can’t do any of these, please stop being a fashion police in church.
Do you think Jesus will ever make fun of people outfit?
These are few things that I noticed people do, and I’m guilty of some too, this is not to call any one out but to point out things we sometimes do unconsciously.
I pray that God grant us the grace to do the right thing always.
Kindly mention other things people do in church that are not right, I will be in the comment section.
Happy Sunday, and have a great week.

I LOVE YOU BUT JESUS LOVES YOU MORE.

Wow, how brave of you to have shared all these.
Unfortunately, it is the same I have seen as well.
In past years, if one were caught doing any of these (especially using phone online/game), it will be a shame, and you yourself will blush (no offense really). If today, you are told why you do this or that, they will look to you like you are a weirdo.
Yet, we did away with the good manners we had been taught in our families.
Everything you mention is so un-Christ. And not a model of being the light we are called to.
Thank you. May we ourselves continue to be the best examples, no matter what.
